This session focuses on the role that truth and truth-telling plays in healing trauma. It takes a philosophical approach to the relation between truth and healing, arguing that there is a tight link between truth-telling and healing from trauma. The session explores intergenerational trauma and human rights violations as prime locations where truth plays a key role in reconciliation and healing.
About the Presenter
Aaron Griffith is an Associate professor of Philosophy at William & Mary. His research focuses on truth, social reality, philosophy of race, and reparations. He is the author of Truth and Social Reality, Oxford University Press, 2025. He is a follower of Jesus and a member of Williamsburg Christian Church.
